There is another way to choose a high quality stone is to choose a synthetic stone (which is manmade), which have less imperfections than a natural Sapphire.

Firstly, we need to look for the purity of colour which means the stone which has uneven colour is not considered as good quality gemstone. One should look for sapphires that are saturated with a single colour. Secondly, the tone of Sapphire tells us a lot about the quality of stone. The darker the tone, the better is its quality. Light coloured Sapphires are not considered as good. Choose Sapphires with less inclusion that allows you to see through it.

The most important to check whether the gemstone has good quality or not is determining the cuts in it. There are different types of cuts in gemstones. The cuts should be symmetrical which means it should be visually balanced. The most used cuts in Sapphires are emerald cut and marquise cut.
